    πŸŽ„ The Christmas stockings have been hung with care on the front gates of the pool! πŸŽ„

    As we celebrate Christmas in July, don't forget to bring your sweet notes of appreciation and gift cards to fill the stockings of our fabulous coaches!

    Our coaches have dedicated so much time and energy to making this season a success, and this is a wonderful way to show them how much they are appreciated. Thank you for helping make them feel extra special!

    Summer Awards Meet:

    Tomorrow morning at 8:00 AM is the deadline to RSVP for the Summer Awards Meet!

    If your swimmer has not yet achieved a Champs qualifying time, they can still attempt to qualify at the Summer Awards Meet, so don't miss this opportunity. Please be sure to RSVP by 8:00 AM tomorrow.

    For swimmers who have already achieved a Champs qualifying time, please log into the Kingsmill Swim Team schedule, select the VPSU Champs Meet, and declare whether your swimmer will attend.

    🏊 VPSU Champs Meet declarations are due by 9:00 PM on Monday, July 27.

    VPSU Championship Meet Information

    Below is everything you need to know about the VPSU Championship Meet.

    Meet Format

    • 11 & Older (Boys & Girls): Morning Session
    • 10 & Under (Boys & Girls): Afternoon Session
    • Relays: Swum at the beginning of the Afternoon Session

    Morning Session

    • Warm-Ups: 7:00–8:20 AM
    • Meet Begins: 8:30 AM

    Afternoon Session

    • Second-half Warm-Ups: Planned to begin around 11:00 AM (subject to change based on the morning session)
    • Meet Begins: 12:30 PM

    There will be four 20-minute warm-up periods in each session. Lane assignments and the final warm-up schedule will be determined after all entries have been received and seeded.

    Events

    • Events are the same as dual meets, but the order has been adjusted for the split-session format.
    • All events will be swum as timed finals and pre-seeded by entry time.
    • Heats will swim slowest to fastest.
    • 8 & Under swimmers must report to the Clerk of Course approximately 10 minutes before their event when announced.
    • 9 & Older swimmers may report to the Clerk of Course if they wish but are responsible for reporting to the blocks on time.

    Eligibility

    Swimmers must:

    • Have achieved the required Championship qualifying time.
    • Have competed in the required number of VPSU meets.
    • Have achieved qualifying times during the 2026 season in sanctioned VPSU meets (or Summer Awards Meet), with results entered into SwimTopia/Meet Maestro.
    • Enter no more than 3 individual events and 1 relay.

    Meet Rules

    • The meet will follow USA Swimming and VPSU Competitive Rules.
    • A swimmer's age as of June 10, 2026, determines their age group.
    • Swimmers must have competed in the required number of regularly scheduled VPSU meets to be eligible.

    Awards

    πŸ… Individual Event Awards

    • Medals: 1st–8th Place
    • Ribbons: 9th–16th Place
    • Awards will be presented following the session in which swimmers compete.

    πŸ† High Point Awards

    • Awarded to the highest-scoring swimmer in each age group and gender based on individual events only (relay points do not count).
    • High Point awards for 6 & Under and 7–8 swimmers are based only on events within their own age group.
    • Ties will result in multiple winners.

    Volunteers

    Each team is assigned volunteer positions and timing responsibilities.

    Sarah Moffitt will assign volunteer positions. Please watch for an email with your assignment.

    Concessions

    • β˜• Sip & Smile: Beginning at 9:00 AM
    • πŸ” Burgers on the Edge: Beginning at 11:00 AM
    • πŸ₯£ Everbowl: Beginning at 9:00 AM (tent setup on Friday)
