Information on 4th of July Parade and Team Towels have arrived!
Hello Shark Families,
The Kingsmill Fourth of July Parade will be held on Saturday, July 4th, beginning at 10:00 a.m. The parade starts at the South Hall Pool parking lot and ends at The Plantation, where the community field games will take place.
The Kingsmill Sharks have proudly participated in this parade for many years, and we would love for all of our Sharks to join us and represent our swim team! Our "float" will consist of two golf carts decorated with sharks, and our swimmers will ride behind them on their bikes, wearing their team shirts, tossing candy to the crowd, and leading our team cheers for the neighborhood to hear!
Here's what you need to know:
- Meet at 9:30 a.m. in the South Hall Pool parking lot with:
- Your bike
- Helmet
- Your Family Fun Night tie-dye shirt or any Kingsmill Sharks team shirt
- A water bottle
Please note: The South Hall Pool parking lot is for drop-off only. Please do not park there.
- Swimmers ages 8 and under must have a parent ride alongside them during the parade. Coaches will not be responsible for supervising children during the parade.
- While we are gathering before the parade begins, we will hand out bags of candy for swimmers to throw to parade spectators.
- The parade begins promptly at 10:00 a.m., travels from South Hall, and concludes at The Plantation for the community field games.
- Our two decorated golf carts will lead the swim team. Please remind your swimmer to:
- Stay behind the golf carts.
- Never hold onto a moving golf cart.
- Stay within our designated lane in the parade.
The parade moves at a slow pace, so we hope everyone enjoys the experience, has fun throwing candy, and cheers as loudly as they can!
After the parade, everyone is welcome to enjoy the KM field games at The Plantation. We will also have a lemonade stand and treats for sale, with all proceeds benefiting the Kingsmill Sharks Swim Team. Be sure to stop by and see us under the trees at The Plantation!
Team Towels:
Team towels have arrived! I will place them on the picnic tables at practice so swimmers can find the towel with their name and take it home. If you ordered a towel during registration, please remind your swimmer to pick it up.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email me.
We hope everyone has a safe, fun, and memorable Fourth of July! Happy Independence Day, and happy 250th birthday, America!
Thank you, as always, for your continued support of the Kingsmill Sharks!
