The Summer Awards Meet will be held on Saturday, July 26th at Queens Lake Pool. 

This is considered the championship/big end of season meet for more than half of the swimmers in the VPSU league. It is a great opportunity for kids to compete against swimmers from all the teams in VPSU and more swimmers have an opportunity to contribute to the team score and get big ribbons.

For the younger swimmers, events are separated out by actual age so 7 year olds just compete against other 7 year olds, etc. This is great fun for kids at the bottom/younger age within their age group. The other fun thing about this meet is that all ages can compete in relays with their friends in the same age group. 

Swimmers are eligible to compete at this meet if they:

• Have not qualified for the VPSU Championship Meet (Champs) in any events.
• Have one or two Champs times and want to swim other events at Summer Awards to try to qualify for Champs in more events.
• Have qualified for Champs but have not met the 3 meet minimum. (They would have to have at least one event they have not qualified for Champs in to be eligible to enter in this meet.)

The RSVP is not open for this meet so you will not see it on our Swimtopia site yet. We just want to ensure you get the date on your calendar if you have not already. If you are interested in more details regarding this end of season meet, please feel free to ask me or the coaches about it.
