Summer Awards Meet RSVPs are due July 23rd at Noon!  This meet is a great opportunity for swimmers to have one last chance at achieving their Champs' times!  It is also a really fun meet for swimmers to feel success and build confidence in their swimming ability!  

Please RSVP on our Kingsmill Swimtopia website under "Summer Awards" meet.  You must be RSVPed to be entered into the meet.  Kingsmill Sharks, Inc. pays the entry fees for your swimmer!  All of the fundraising from concessions enables us to pay for our swimmers to be entered for this meet as well as the VPSU Champs meet!  (Summer Awards Meet runs the team $4.00 per event and $12 for the relay) 

Also, if you sign your child up to swim in the Summer Awards Meet, you will be required to sign up for a timing shift. (we will wait to assign shifts once we know who is attending).

VPSU SUMMER AWARDS MEET HOSTED BY THE QUEENS LAKE EAGLES SATURDAY JULY 27th, 2024

LOCATION: Queens Lake Pool, 234 E. Queens Drive, Williamsburg, VA

FACILITY: Outdoor 25 Meter Pool, Six Lanes, non-turbulent lane lines 

ELIGIBILITY: Open to all swimmers from teams within the VPSU Membership who have yet to achieve a Championship Meet time in the event entered. All swimmers may enter up to 3 events and 2 relays (we will have mixed relays as well). Each team can enter up to 3 relays per event. Any swimmer entered in an individual event may enter the Relays. 

MEET FORMAT: Events will be swum in the order listed on the attached schedule of events. All events are timed finals. All swimmers will go directly to the Clerk of Course when their event is called. 

All 10 & under will swim in the Morning Session 

All 11 & over will swim in the Afternoon Session 

WARM-UPS: 10 & Under Session – 7:00 A.M. – Start Meet at 8:15 A.M.

11 & Over Session – 12:00 P.M. – Start Meet at 1:15 P.M. 

The Meet Director will schedule warm-ups depending on the number of entries. Your warm-up times will be sent to you once entries are submitted and the meet is merged. The start of the afternoon session may also be changed by the Meet Director based on entries. 

 ENTRIES: All entries are due in our Kingsmill Swimtopia account by Tuesday July 23rd at 12:00 NOON (after the last meet). 

LATE ENTRIES: NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED.

TIMING: Each team will be assigned to time a lane or part of a lane based on the number of entries. Each team is responsible to provide timers for the duration of the meet. Your Team Rep will get the Timing assignment and the Warm-up schedule by Wednesday July 24th

RULES: The Summer Awards Meet will follow the 2024 U.S. 

Swimming Rules as modified by the VPSU Competitive Rules.

Age Groups have been modified in some events to allow more swimmers to win awards. 

The Age up Date for this meet is 6/10/2024. Swimmers must compete in their own Age Group for the Individual Events (exception for 10 and Under 100 IM, 8 and Under Breast and Fly). Swimmers may swim up in the relays. Mixed relays may be composed of 2 boys/2 girls, 1 boy/3 girls, or 1 girl/3 boys. 

AWARDS: Ribbons will be awarded for 1st - 12th in both Individual and Relay Events. Plaques will be Awards to the Top-3 Teams. 

SCORING: Individual Events – 16,13,12,11,10, 9, 7, 5, 4, 3 , 2, 1 Relays Events: 32, 26, 24, 22, 20, 18, 14, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2 

TENT SETUP: Teams will be allowed to set up tents in the designated area Friday night, July 26th after 6 PM. 

SPECTATORS: There will be two bleachers at the far end of the pool to observe swimmers. Please watch your swimmer and then clear the pool deck to allow others to come see their swimmers. No deck chairs will be allowed in the pool area. 

COACHES AREA: Coaches will be allowed on deck on the far side of the pool. No swimmers are allowed to stay in the coaches area. Swimmers may come to check in with their coach after their race, but should not stay on deck. 

CONCESSIONS: Available for both sessions. Cash and Credit will be accepted. 

HOSPITALITY/LUNCH: For Coaches and Officials will be offered in the Queens Lake Clubhouse. 

PARKING: Available in the field adjacent to the pool entry driveway. Please carpool when able as parking space is limited. There will be a limited number of handicap parking spaces available close to the pool
